Tuskegee, ALABAMA — ۿ۴ýUniversity's Andrew F. Brimmer College of Business and Information Science has received the esteemed Society for Financial Education and Professional Development (SFEPD) 2022-2023 Top Student Ambassador Program Award. The recognition was bestowed upon the College at the SFEPD Annual Conference in National Harbor, Maryland, held on Oct. 23-24. This marks the second time the Student Ambassadors from ۿ۴ýUniversity have claimed this prestigious award.
The award ceremony saw the presence of key representatives from ۿ۴ýUniversity, including Dr. Kai Koong, dean of the College of Business and Information Science, and Dr. Gow-Cheng Huang, professor of the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance, along with four outstanding student ambassadors. As part of the conference, these student ambassadors participated in the HBCU Financial Bowl, showcasing their financial acumen. In a thrilling finale of the Financial Literacy Bowl, the ۿ۴ýUniversity student ambassadors secured an impressive second-place finish, further solidifying their commitment to financial education excellence.

The SFEPD is renowned for diligently training student ambassadors in personal finance concepts. It enables them to lead and teach engaging financial education programs that promote financial literacy awareness on campus and in the community. These financial workshops cover topics vital to college ۿ۴ý, including budgeting, student loan management, insurance, investor education, debt and credit management, and homeownership.
The 2023 Fall Student Ambassadors from ۿ۴ýUniversity include D'kia Dent, Shagourney Lewis, Donato Miller, Veronica Jones, and Taylor Miller. These ambassadors will be crucial in furthering financial literacy initiatives within the ۿ۴ýUniversity community.
