TU COMMENCEMENT UPDATE
¿Û¿Û´«Ã½University has been working throughout the day to clean storm debris in preparation for Commencement on Saturday morning.
Campus visitors will be able to use the main Lincoln Gate, the Franklin Road gate and the VA gate to enter campus Saturday.
All Commencement attendees will need a ticket to enter Chappie James Arena. Doors to Chappie James will open at 7:30 a.m. Overflow locations include the Chapel and Henderson Hall. Tickets are not required in the overflow areas.
The campus clear bag policy remains in place.
As ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½University prepares to celebrate its 2024 graduation class on Saturday, the campus is in clean-up mode after severe storms moved through on Thursday night, downing trees and power lines. A tree fell at the main entrance, the Lincoln Gates, damaging the most used entry to campus. Visitors are asked to use the Brimmer gate instead.
A number of buildings remained without power early Friday morning and crews were on campus to remove a 500-seat overflow tent erected for Commencement guests. Overflow guests will now be able to watch the ceremony from Logan Hall, the Chapel or Henderson Hall.
The university is asking ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½, faculty and staff to minimize movement on campus to allow crews to conduct clean-up efforts. All scheduled events for Friday will continue as planned.
¿Û¿Û´«Ã½guests are advised that as crews will work throughout Friday, campus clean-up may continue into Saturday as crowds arrive on campus for the ceremony. All ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½, staff and visitors are asked to take precautions on campus as some storm debris may remain.
