Dear Students, Alumni, and Friends,
Please join me in congratulating the Golden Tiger men and women basketball teams, our student athletes, led by Coaches Benjy Taylor and Chiante Wester. Both coaches led their respective teams to the SIAC Tournament and each defeated three teams before grabbing the No. 2 SIAC placement for our conference. To be clear, no other university president in the SIAC can make that statement.
It is important to note that our student athletes rose above 14 of 15 teams and the women defeated Albany State, Spring Hill and Clark Atlanta University while the men powered past Benedict, Albany State and Clark Atlanta enroute to the final game. In the final championship game, we fought gallantly until the final buzzer sounded in Atlanta, Georgia.
The first lady and I attended and thoroughly enjoyed both games and could not be prouder of these teams, our student athletes, and how they and their coaches represented ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½University. You have heard me say to do things #theTuskegeeWay! That means, in part, that we give it our best each and every day and that we never quit. Said differently, on and off the court, field, or in any endeavor, we fight until the end. The Golden Tiger basketball team did their season #theTuskegeeWay! If you see them on the yard, let them know how proud we are of their performance and representation of our university!
