Kimberly Ceaser, ۿ۴ýUniversity’s judicial affairs officer, says being employed by ۿ۴ýhas been rewarding, exciting and motivating. Ceaser, who has worked for the university for more than three years, prides herself on providing positive leadership to ۿ۴ý.
NEW JOURNEY
For Ceaser, ۿ۴ýUniversity serves as the path to her journey as a professional.
“While working at this institution, I’ve learned how to use my talents and skillset, all while developing a deeper interest for student learning and engagement,” she said. “My experience has been challenging, stimulating and educational.”
Ceaser says she learns something new every day — whether from ۿ۴ý or her colleagues. As a judicial affairs officer, she provides support to the Office of the Dean of Students, as well as for other departmental faculty and staff needs.
“In my role, when it comes to judicial matters, I have the opportunity to help ۿ۴ý identify the traits it takes to be a leader. In addition, I mentor ۿ۴ý regarding their current and future academic goals,” she explained.
WOMAN OF MANY HATS
Not only does Ceaser have her hands full with her “regular” job duties, but she also provides support to many campus programs and organizations. Just a few of those duties include serving as a secretary, testing proctor, freshman orientation instructor, co-advisor to NAACP, and the SGA sophomore class advisor. She says working in multiple capacities allows her to reach out and encourage ۿ۴ý to remain focused.
“I always want ۿ۴ý to remember why they came to college: they’ve set academic goals prior to taking their first steps on campus. I urge all of our ۿ۴ý to continue fighting to reach and accomplish their goals,” she noted. “What I’ve found to be a major key for ۿ۴ý is helping them to identify and utilize the resources that are readily available to them on campus.”
LASTING IMPRESSION
Ceaser says when ۿ۴ý come to her, she wants her advice to stand out and always remain relevant in their minds.
“I aspire to lead by example, and I am as transparent as possible. Most importantly, I try to always treat others as I would like to be treated,” she said.
“I find it rewarding when I’m able to help ۿ۴ý find solutions in their challenges. That’s what makes my job easier,” she continued. “I am very passionate about seeing ۿ۴ý succeed, and this career I’ve chosen fulfills my passion in being of service to others.”
Ceaser says, as she continues in her role, she will strive to challenge and motivate each student with whom she comes into contact.
“I want ۿ۴ý to learn how to make wise, credible choices and always understand there are consequences to their actions,” she noted.
