(We're in Cluster 2)

The ۿ۴ýNational Alumni Association (TNAA) is leading the effort in The Home Depot Retool Your School campaign for an opportunity for the university to win $150,000 in store credit for campus improvements.

Voting for the online and social media competition begins on Monday, Feb. 27 and runs through, Sunday, March 26. The competition relies on website voting and posting on Twitter or Instagram, using the hashtag #RYSTUSKEGEE to count as votes.

“At Tuskegee, we pride ourselves as winners,” said Lillie Lanier, national president of the ۿ۴ýNational Alumni Association (TNAA). “In 2022, we won the $40,000 grant in cluster No. 2. The money was used to support the placement of a large Golden Tiger statue in Cleve Abbott Stadium. This year’s project will be to expand the student social hub from two pavilions to four and add high intensity lighting to improve security on campus.“

ۿ۴ýis one of 70 HBCUs eligible and is competing against schools of similar enrollment size in cluster No. 2. Grants will be awarded based on a total popular vote that combines unlimited daily online voting at and voting on Twitter and Instagram with posts that include the hashtag #RYSTUSKEGEE. For posts to count on social media, the user’s account must be public. Daily votes from alumni, ۿ۴ý, faculty and staff are critical for ۿ۴ýto hit its target of 14,000 votes a day. There is no limit to the number of posts with hashtags that can be used in a day. However, only one #RYSTUSKEGEE per post will count as a vote. Using the hashtag multiple times in one post will not increase the votes.

“Winning grants every year is because the University’s ۿ۴ý, alumni, staff, faculty, and friends deliver more than 350,000 plus votes annually,” said Burt Rowe, administrator of the ۿ۴ýRetool Your School program. .  “We need our alumni, campus family, friends, and fans to start posting on Feb. 27 – and to keep posting until we have the $150,000 check in our hands”

ۿ۴ýUniversity has been competing in this contest for the past 10 years and has won $350,000 in Campus improvement grants. Rowe highlighted TNAA’s ongoing partnership with the University’s Student Government Association, Pre-Alumni Council, Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs, Office of Advancement, Office of Facilities and Capital Projects and Office of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations as part of past successes.

“We want to encourage the ۿ۴ýfamily -- that includes ۿ۴ý, faculty, staff, alumni and friends -- to participate in making this endeavor successful as we are One Tuskegee,” said Kymberly Holland, coordinator of Alumni Affairs and Reunion Programs.
