Postharvest E-learning Program

Welcome

Welcome to the 2020-2021 postharvest training program will be offered by ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½University (TU), in association with the Postharvest Education Foundation (PEF) for the next 6 months.

Training will be conducted by team members and other personnel with expertise in horticulture, food and nutrition, and post-harvest physiology. Temperate, tropical and sub-tropical crops will be used as the focus of training, to ensure exposure to a wide variety of crops with different horticultural characteristics. Study/discussion topics will cover harvest practices, maturity and quality, curing practices, packing and packaging materials, post-harvest pest management, temperature and relative humidity control, storage practices (on-farm and small scale), transport practices, small-scale food processing (drying, canning, fresh-cut) and food safety issues and practices.
